West Monroe will be part of a new initiative to crown a high school national champion. Highschoolsports.net and USA Today are teaming up to create the inaugural “Massey Virtual National Championship,” a 64-team tournament bracket simulated by a computer to determine the best football team in the nation.

The program, the same technology behind the Bowl Championship Series created by Ken Massey, will start Jan. 4, and the winner will be announced at 10 a.m. on Jan. 9
